Dr. Savino earned his B.S. from Boston College and his M.D. from the SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse (SUNY Upstate Medical University). He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at Johns Hopkins University.

Robotic and Advanced Joint Replacement

Dr. Savino performs robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement and is certified in the ROSA, Mako, and Bluebelt robotic surgical systems. He leads NYU Langone's robotic surgery initiatives across Suffolk County.

He also offers smart knee replacement implants, which allow a care team to remotely monitor a patient's activity and range of motion during recovery — giving both surgeon and patient objective data on how rehabilitation is progressing, rather than relying on recall between appointments.
